The aim of the course is to provide learners with in depth knowledge regarding the sale of alcohol on licence premises/under temporary event notices and as an individual. This six hour course covers all aspects from legal to sales, to under age persons, licensing law and leaves the learner in no doubt as to the responsibility expected of a Personal Licence Holder.
Once the course is completed and the small examination passed, applicants may apply to their Local Council for a Personal Licence which has a duration of 10 years.
Course Content
Topics include the nature, purpose and period of validity of a personal licence, the application process and legal duties when applying for a personal licence, the legal duties of a personal licence holder, the roles, responsibilities and functions of licensing authorities, the nature and strength of alcohol and the effect on the body and the law in relation to premises licences.
